HBO's Hilarious Star-Studded Mocumentary Takes A Look At Doping In the Tour De France

Professional road cycling, perhaps unfairly, has a bit of a reputation for being full of dopers. It goes all the way back and it seemed like everyone was in on it – though it’s almost certainly 100% clean these days due to the stigma and the extra vigilant testers. But then you see things like Leicester managing to win the Premier League last season, or any American Football player doing absolutely anything ever, and you have to wonder whether or not doping is equally prominent in other sports and whether the drugs available are simply more sophisticated than the drug testing equipment being used…

Nonetheless it’s fun to take the piss out of cycling for being more full of drugs than a toilet cubicle in a nightclub near Bournemouth University on a Wednesday… because it was.

Taking advantage of cycling’s history, HBO decided to make a mocumentary about the 1982 Tour de France, starring countless famous faces, such as Andy Samberg, John Cena, Daveed Diggs, Orlando Bloom, Freddie Highmore, Jeff Goldbum and more.

It’s called Tour de Pharmacy and it looks fantastic…

Orlando Bloom’s hair is so good in this. I know there was more to point out from the trailer but far be it for me to let a good trim go unnoticed.

It’s out come the 8th of July and I can’t wait.
