This Patient's Reaction To Taking Ketamine Is Absolutely Hilarious

Ketamine is one of those potent drugs that for one minute can have you thinking you’ve got your shit together and everything is under control, and the next minute you’re questioning your own existence whilst seeing the room you’re in move around like a scene out of Inception/Doctor Strange.

When I went to uni, there seemed to be a wave of ketamine knocking about all of a sudden, and very quickly it became the recreational drug to use.

True story: I was stood next to a guy who had taken it on a night out once and he was trying to use a water bottle as a mobile phone to call his mate. Just a small indication of how fucked up it can make you.

That’s because it’s actually supposed to be used as a horse tranquiliser, or for inducing and maintaining anaesthesia for sedation in intensive care, not, as many would have you believe, for ‘getting on it.’

Recently, the BBC was doing a profile on a super hospital in Scotland, where they filmed a man being sedated with the drug. As you can see from the video below, this is pretty much what it looks like to be in a ‘ket-hole’, the term often used to described the state of people who have totally lost the plot when using ketamine.

I feel kind of sorry for him but the video is so funny. There’s always loads of videos that surface on the internet of people saying hilarious things under anaesthetic, but this one is right up there with the best of them.

He says a number of hilarious things in the clip, some of my favourites being: “Feel the burn”, “I’m the man!” “This is good”, “Go for it”, and “Excell-ent”- all things that people who have used the drug have probably said at one time or another.

He even gives a superb rendition of Lionel “Rich-Tea’s” ‘Dancing On The Ceiling.’

In the end he was okay, which is good news, and luckily for him he didn’t have to go through the pain of having his fractured ankle being manipulated back into place.

You da maaaaaann.
