10 Of The Most Expensive Homes You Can Rent On AirBnB


One of my favourite pastimes is torturing myself by looking at all of the things I could never afford. 

I don’t know why, but there’s something about lusting after things you can’t have that’s quite enjoyable – which I why I assume you’ve clicked on this article. Hello, fellow self-torturer, I have compiled a list of AirBnB rentals you will never be able to afford. Unless you’re loaded in which case, take your annoying self somewhere else.

1. 18th century New York house – £6,803 a night


This beautifully opulent house is intended for use as a filming location, and boasts over 10,000 square feet of fancy furnishings and expensive thing – including ‘museum level art’. Yikes.

2. 16th century Tuscan villa – £5,930 a night


Feel like royalty in this fully staffed Italian villa which can sleep up to 16 people, in 10 bedrooms. Only ten minutes from Florence, guests at the villa can sample locally produced olive oil, while enjoying the Renaissance architecture and interiors. If you managed to get 15 other people on board, it would cost you a slightly more reasonable £370 a night.

3. Contemporary Californian house with 270 degree bay views – £8,022 a night


If it’s good enough for Bey and the Biebs, it’s good enough for us. This fancy five bedroom pad is ideal for very wealthy people visiting for the superbowl. Or, maybe, a once in a lifetime one-night holiday for an average human (plus 9 of their friends).

It boasts five bedroom suites, a game room, fitness centre, vanishing edge pool, spa, outdoor fire pit, and a full bar.

4. A fully staffed 112-foot yacht – £8,022 a night


Cruise around Cabo on this fully staffed 3 bedroom yacht. Captain, crew, award winning chef and stewardess are included, what a bargain! It also comes with access to jet skis, kayaks, boat tender, fighting chairs, fishing gear, snorkel toys and more.

5. 10o acre Suffolk country manor and estate – £2,300 a night


This grade 1 listed Georgian country home comes with a butler and chef, has a swimming pool and tennis court, and can sleep a maximum of 16 in ten bedrooms. Ideal for weddings or other events of the like, or a very expensive country escape.

6. Californian villa with views of the Pacific – £4,011 a night


This three story Italian style villa with incredible panoramic views is just minutes from Santa Monica and Malibu, sleeps a maximum of 12 and has a sleep infinity pool.

7. Authentic French Chateau in the Loire Valley – £7,727 a night


This beautiful Chateau is actually probably one of the most economic of the lavish options, as it is able to sleep a maximum of 32 people in its 17 bedrooms – which would work out at about £240 a night, per person. I mean, it’s no Premiere Inn, but when else would you get the chance to stay in a beautiful and extremely fancy home in the Loire Valley?

8. An underwater room in Tanzania – £1,203 a night


It’s official, you can sleep in a reverse fish tank for just over £1k a night. For that, you get a hut in the middle of nowhere with an underwater bedroom, and to be honest, it looks bloody incredible.

9. South African lodge – £3,027 a night


This three bedroom private lodge located in the middle of the Welgenvonden Big 5 Private Game Reserve boasts a private pool, hot tub, gym, and the option to go out on safaris to appreciate the wildlife.

10. Mexican villa with chef and pool – £1,308 a night


Sleeping a maximum of 12 people, you and 11 of your friends could enjoy a wonderful Mexican holiday in a beautiful villa with all of your food cooked for you, for only £109 a day, which is pretty darn reasonable. The ‘Villa Soliman’ boasts six ocean view bedrooms with ensuites, and two rooftop terraces that provide incredible views of Soliman bay and the Caribbean sea.

11. South African presidential penthouse – £2,148 a night

This 250 sq.m deluxe penthouse apartment is beautifully decorated and filled with luxury furniture. It boasts 360 degree beautiful views, of the sea and mountains, one bed but two bathrooms and a fully stocked bar. Guests have access to the pool, spa and library.

12. Entire villa in fancy Portofino – £1,738


The luxury village on the Italian Riviera is the holiday destination for the wealthiest of people. No such thing as a cheap holiday there, you might as well book an entire villa in the national park – for a bargain£1.7k a night. With seven bedrooms, two full time staff and 4 acres of private land – you couldn’t want for more.

13. Entire villa on an island in the Sechelles – £3,494


This beautiful villa has five bedrooms and can house up to ten guests. It’s located on the gloriously peaceful island if Preslin. Surrounded by beautiful blue waters and yellow sand, it’s every holiday maker’s dream.

14. 7 bedroom villa in St Tropez – £3,399


This extremely fancily decorated villa boasts seven bedrooms, a pool, tennis courts, and a private helipad. Rent this place for the minimum of 14 nights, and live out your Love Island dreams.

15. The chance to stay in a catamaran and follow the UCI Road World championship – £3,060


Life’s too short not to rent a boat to follow a cycling competition, right? This boat comes fully staffed and will allow you to follow the cyclists with intense precision.

16. Extremely fancy St Tropez villa – £2,361


Outdoor beds next to the pool? We’re sold.

17.  “The Big House” – £2,000


A historic house set among a 2000 acre estate. Now that’s a dog walk and a half. It can house up to 16 guests, and would make for a great country holiday destination.

18. Seriously fancy chalet – £7,459


This eye-wateringly expensive chalet sleeps 12, and is so luxuriously decorated we’re pretty sure anyone staying here may suffer from heart palpitations due to the sheer beauty of the place. The dining table provides glorious mountain views, and the chalet is filled with beautiufl log fires, a pool, hot tub, a gym, and more.

19. Casa Es Cubells – £2,795


This Spanish villa can host up to six guests, and has those fancy out door beds we all need in our lives. With it’s own swimming pool and glorious outdoor areas, this villa is sure to make your holiday unforgettable.

20. Entire renovated French castle – £1,086


A whole castle. A real, actual, whole castle. In France. Sign us up.
