Netflix Is Selling Weed With Different Flavours For Each Of Their Shows
It’s not everyday that a streaming service uses the drug industry to promote it’s content. Welcome to 2017, people.
i can't believe netflix is developing their own weed and yet i also can. weird times we live in.

Weird times, indeed. But what’s even weirder is that Netflix have gone ahead and used this (very strange) opportunity to promote the rest of it’s shows, because – why not?
Orange is the new black, Bojack Horseman and many other shows on the streaming have gotten their own strains of weed, carefully tailored to suit the theme of the story they’re telling. Clever, right?
Well, this whole stunt has been done in order to promote Netflix’s new show – Disjointed – which sees Kathy Bates (American Horror Story, Misery) play Cannabis legend Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, who “employs her newly graduated son and a team of young “budtenders” to help run her Los Angeles marijuana dispensary“.
For some reason, that storyline just screams California – and it’s probably because Netflix have chosen to sell their special packs of weed in that state.
Unfortunately for anyone outside California, the weed wont be available for purchase, and, in all honesty, it’s probably all sold out by now. The weed went on sale over this past weekend, and seeing as so many people are fans of the whole ‘Netflix and Chill‘ concept – we’re guessing that the stock didn’t last very long.
‘The Netflix Collection’ will feature a number of different strains of cannabis, meant to be smoked while binge-watching shows on the streaming service.
‘Each strain was cultivated with the specific shows in mind, designed to complement each title based on their tone,’ the company said in a press release. ‘For example, sillier shows may be more indica dominant, while dramedies will be more sativa dominant to help the more powerful scenes resonate.’
The Orange Is The New Black variation of weed is titled ‘Poussey Riot‘ and is specifically designed for ‘kicking it with somebody, talking, making mad stupid jokes’.
Arrested Development has a variant titled ‘Banana Stand Kush’ which is intended for a ‘big yellow joint’.
Disjointed is available to watch on Netflix now.
